请问H-1丢了工作之后怎样保持身份

公司最近很不景气，裁员的谣言满天飞，我也得先盘算一下出路了。
请问大家，被裁之后怎样保持身份最好。我能想到的路有
1。立刻找个破学校转F1
2。立刻交转F-2的申请
3。什么都不做，让公司的HR拖着，指望很快找到新工作
不知道具体实行起来怎么办最好。如果转成F1或F2将来再工作申请H1时有什么限制。知道的拜托说一声吧

I hear if you submit an app to change from H1 to F1, you need to wait until this app is approved/rejected. Meanwhile, you can not change to others. This is to say, after changing to F1/F2, a new company hires you, but you need to wait for the F1 to approve then changed the 2nd H1. That's a bit complicated.
That is why I suggest take F1/F2 as the last resort.
