URGENT: CPT and fellowship

| For the fall semester, I was awarded a dissertation fellowship, which requires me to provide at least 20 hours a week working on my dissertation. This runs through the whole fall semester. This is supposed to be my graduating semester. Currently, I signed up one credit for working FULL-TIME off-campus on CPT, and the authorization runs through the end of Sep. My plan is to accept the fellowship, and meanwhile obtain an extention of my CPT for the rest of this semester (I will at least drop from FULL-time to PART-time). Am I allowed to do that? I want to check this out here. If I talk to the IES officials, they might simply turn down this even if it is legally and technically feasible. (Besides, how long does it take now to get a part-time OPT approved???) THANKS.... | |

IES staff sometimes is picky. I should be able to work off-campus part-time even if I have the fellowship. However, if I inquire this directly with the IES staff, they might not extend my CPT. Sometimes they do not give the real informaiton, just try not to get themselves into any trouble..
So I want to see whether ppl has some experience w/ this. If CPT and fellowship could be received meanwhile technically and legally, I will then address this formally to the IES staff. Otherwise...
