I have been to several nice American restaurant in different cities, unfortunately I did not take pictures, but I would like to share the names if you also have a interest in trying different things.
Hana Sishi, The best sushi I have ever had.
Morton's steak house, expensive, I ordered the Filet Mignon and my colleague ordered double cut Filet Mignon, only one dissert the Godiva Cake, no appetizer no wine, then total about $170. It is a famous chain steak house and you can find on their website if they have the local store near you.
NC
McIntosh's Steak and Seafood, My American colleagues all know about the restaurant because of the movie taken in this restaurant. I have no idea about the movie (name is 'Shallow Hal'), but the food is good. I cannot remember what main course I took (personally I feel the Sullivan is better than this one),, but I have the impression that the appetizer, sth. like the lobster tail and jumbo shrimp, is very good.
Sullivan's Steak House, definitely No 1 steak house. Classic atmosphere, great steak (the best I have ever had), nice wine, unforgettable appetizer. I did not order dissert but took a bite of my colleague’s chocolate brownie cake, so warm and delicious.
Bon Fish
Chain restaurant, much less expensive than the above two, but I vote it as the best chain restaurant. If I pay myself for a dinner with friends, I will definitely go with this one. They keep a little bit oriental style in the seafood they cooked. My favorite is the Sea Bass.
Willie G's Seafood & Steak House
Very famous good seafood place for local people.
De Chao
for meat lovers. About $50 per person without drinks. Don’t take anything from the salad bar, only eat meat. Even my Brazilian colleague that it is really good meat.
ACME
I went there with LG. The raw oyster were very fresh, and it was awesome when served with the homemade sauce. The deep fried oyster was good too, the outside were deep fried into golden crispy, but the inside still keeps the raw and juicy taste. We also tried another NO style Po’Boy. It looks just like the Subway Sandwich, but the roast beef and fried seafood made them taste more special. We were really stuffed after having everything, although we still had an interest of the bread pudding and gumbo soup. Altogether it took us $52 dollars, the price was reasonable and the food was very nice. We agreed that it was the place we would come again if we go to NO next time.
Irene (a family restaurant in a quiet corner in the French Quarter, not very sure of the name)
I had veal and LG had some baked fish and shrimp, and we finished with Flamed Alaska cake. The food was fresh and well prepared, and the atmosphere was cozy family style. It took us $90, including tips and wines.
