I will travel to San Franciso and stay there for 1 week next month. Can jms give me some suggestions about cheap lodging and good Asian (Chinese, Korea, Thai, etc.) restaurants?

Also, Can any jm tell me about the shopping spots in SF? Any good discout store or outlet? Is there any convienient public transportation tool or I have to rent a car? Thanks a lot !!
