Before I take the CD out, any amount money is ok in this checking account, but when I take out the CD after 7 months, I have to maintain $1500 in the checking account, otherwise they will charge me a $6/m service fee. So I am just asking if I can close this checking account with no harm.

It sounds no good. Is there any local citibank branch in your area? - but they'll require a checking acct too.
I'd still recommend Countrywide. 6-month internet CD is 5.55% APY.

我觉得checking帐户关了是不影响分数的，因为信用报告上根本不会罗列出来的，最多也就是你开户的时候，有个inquiry
CHASE经常有开checking帐户给$100 bonus的活动，要是MM决定开CHASE的CD，别忘了问一下能不能一起用哈
其实我觉得COUNTYWIDE那个3个月的也不错，时间也不长

Based on you guys recommendations, I may consider the ING or countrywide. But I never heard those two banks. That would not be a problem , right?

These two are big brandnames. Absolutely.
They are FDIC insured. If your CD is under 100K, no need to worry about anything.
Put in this way, if these 2 banks have big trouble, then a lot of other worse things would happen too. We have serious economy meltdown.

网上开的cd, 没有local branch, 到期后不再接着存了，打个电话就会寄个check过来么，不知道可不可以直接网上转钱进checking or saving account?

You can do direct deposit to avoid the monthly fee. You can use your ING to transfer money to chase as the "direct deposit".
