Last weekend, my credit card did not work. Today, I got time to call Citi and found that they closed my account on last Friday June 19.
As a 10 year user of that citicard, I was shocked to know that my card is closed without any warning. I still have over $100 reward cash with that card. I did not find time to ask before. They don't tell me any reason. Only said that I need to write a letter to an address.
I am not sure anyone has such an experience. Does it matter to find out why my account is closed? I am curiously.
How can I get my reward money back?
Anyway, citi is not a good bank to work with.

try calling them asking for the reward
typically the reward is forfeited once account is closed
but sometimes they offer 30-day grace period

typically there is no way to find out the reason for cards closed
it is usually a reply of "business decision" which has 0 meaning in it to u
u can guess by checking whether u:
1. have not used the card for a long time
2. have got many big transactions compared to usual, even if it is on other credit cards of other credit companies (they report high balance to credit bureau)
3. have potentially violated any terms or abused reward policies, like manufactured purchase
