最近又听说OPT是不用交social secruity tax & medicare的，我去问H&R Block帮我做税的人，他们也不是很懂，还说99%是拿不到的，因为我在这里3年多了，那个规定有时间限制。
今天问了一个同事，她说她专门去学校问过，然后人家告诉她肯定是不需要交的，应该退回来。
现在要怎么样才能问IRS把social secruity tax & medicare那部分再要回来呢？大约也要有1000了，拿回来也很不错啊。

As long as you are considered a "non-resident alien for tax purposes," you are not subject to Social Security and Medicare taxes. Refund of these taxes may be requested from your employer. If your employer is unable to refund these taxes, you may file IRS Form 843 for a refund from the IRS.

那就是像重雪开始说的，non-resident alien不用交
要是从F1开始算,超过5年的话,应该是按照resident alien算了,要交social secruity tax & medicare了,对吧?
不过我有个问题,就是这个5年是从什么时候开始算呢?F1签证的日期开始吗?
那比如说去年1-6月是non-resident alien ,7月以后可以算F1超过5年了,报税的时候应该算什么身份啊?
