What's the difference between global stock - value and global stock - growth? and large cap- value and large cap growth? thanks!!!

这些都是不同种类的mutual fund。

Global stock - 应该是主要投资美国境外的公司的股票。

Value fund - 主要投资于大型保值公司的股票，也许还有一些证券。

Growth fund - Value fund相反，投资于预期增长会超过平均股市增长率的公司的股票。

Large Cap - Large Market Capitalization 是指发行股票的总数量乘以每股的价钱超过$10billion的公司。

当然，每家投资公司对他们的Value fund, growth fund，等等的定义也不完全一样。要了解，一定要看看mutual fund的prospectus，不能光看名字的。

I use prudential and have no idea which one to choose.  I used to just use their granteed income fund, and the return is so low... even less than some saving account interest.

I would suggest that you use Vanguard's target retirement funds as a template to build your own asset mix.

The website list out the different funds with the targeted age now and the estimated retirement age.  Pick the fund that matches your own situation the closest, click on its name, it will list out all the funds that the target funds invest in.  Click on "Holdings", and it will tell you the percentages allocated to each fund. 

You can mirror your own investments, then just rebalance once a year.
