If you want the bonus and you don't want to use the payroll as direct deposit, you can use ING to transfer money to the checking account; if you don't need the bonus, you can use either ING or Paypal to transfer money as direct deposit

In some cases, paypal doesn't count DD. If you don't get the bonus and call CS eventually, they will tell you paypal is not DD.
You can change the payroll, but my suggestion is if you haven't figured out how or where to set up DD, don't open the account at Chase. Because your bonus, as well as the waive of your monthly service fee both rely on DD.
