You can get free credit report (note: not credit score) once each year.

This is by law from US government, and there is no fee for that.

ONLY this site is the TRUE government sponsored annual free credit report. Don't go other sites.

What you can get from it:

List of credit cards you have now, and their status (such as: closed, active).
List of credit account you may have, such as some utility account, phone account, etc.
List of your addresses.
List of your employers. etc

If you want to know your credit score, then you have to pay about 5-10$.
