Sounds like a compression fracture. Conservative treatment is rest and basic pain management and let the fracture heal which can take weeks/months. Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty are treatment options we offer here, basically drill a hole into the fractured bone, inject bone cement, stabilize the fracture fragment and reduces pain. There are fairly recent literature articles (new england journal of medicine) claiming those procedures are similar to placebo effects, but the ones we treated had almost instant resolution of pain. The problem is increased risk of fracture just above or below the level treatment because of the shift of axial load and change in bone stiffness, 20-30% if I remember correctly. These procedure can be done by orthopedic surgeons or interventional radiologists, should be widely available in any major hospital. good luck
