I only had experience with CoverGirl.
Once bought two colors and blend them, one is "buff beige" and the other is "soft honey".
CoverGirl has a new "true blend" series now and sells small samples. I tried "Class beige", not bad.
Hope this can help a little.

What about ivory color? Is it good for asian?

没错，记得当时国内mary kay只有3种就是soft ivory, ivory, dark ivory(?)，
beige太深了。
再说drug store应该有tester吧？至少supermarket有。
试试就行了。

一般都选第二浅。好像超市里也有色卡的，就是那种塑料卡，自己比比看
