yes.....至少这个我看明白了. 不算太不合格的观众,尽管是个BIASED的观众.
It is not because they tend to "think too much", it is just based on different level of tolerance in controversial topics.
I don't watch the movie and just automatically get so offended because the students were portrait badly, I mean that is besides the whole point of the movie already. I guess it really varies by what background you have and how you always view the world. And you are right, I can think of it is as tolerance level, because some people always get offended where as I just don't see where the offense is coming from.
其实从头到尾，我没有觉得WJZ是不可原谅的，亦没有觉得易先生是多么人人得而诛之。他们俩的行为，虽然我都不认可，但是我都觉得是可以理解的。但是我不能接受的，是李安在花了大功夫刻画WJZ和易先生的“人性”的同时，也许是为了衬托他们二人，却是简单，粗暴的“非人性化”了其他所有的爱国学生。
我觉得我以及其他几个人一再重复的就是这个观点，但是某人或者是选择型失明，或者曲解这个意思，耸肩。

They have certain belief that they don't want to be contradicted or even doubted. I understand that.

If he left that portion out, I believe you still understand the movie and won't change your interpretation. That is why I think it is redundant.
I didn't dare to say that. I bet they definitely don't agree. They will say we are biased. Let's just say we have disagreements on certain "truths".
"I think Ang Lee gave more sympathy to these students"...That is why I think some of the details in the movie is redundant and may weaken the movie.
