but in california, the houses are all made by wood. We avoid buying houses made by bricks :) Because there are too many big/small quakes here.

From what I heard, stucco is more expensive than wood and it is a good choice of siding material.

it's more expensive than wood, that's for sure, but it's not as good as brick (stucco is about $2000 less one side compared with brick)
