There are A LOT you can do in South Africa.
The most common thing western people do there is to visit National Park!!
South Africa has quite a few National Parks(I mean well-managed and reasonably developed to cater tourists). Unless you do want some REAL/Professional adventures, there parks are great places for beginners.
SA also has many great beaches. I saw them many times on TRAVEL Channel.
