相差8岁 is not a big deal. I had a coworker who's 12 years older than her husband. Now they've been married for 12 years. They even don't have kid together, because the wife had 2 kids and didn't want kid any more. In fact she has 2 grand kids now. Now she's 51, and he is 39. BTW, she is Asian and he is white.
