I agree. If you have research responsiblities, it is better to give yourself sufficient time and be focused. Sometimes you 'water' when you can't think creatively. That's not bad and you are waiting for your brain to rest. But, if you give yourself a busy schedule (like taking evening classes), it will be difficult for your mind to come to the 'right' stage, which will hurt your research work.
