I got a so-called promotion (good for PERM), but salary raise even less than last year...kao, this is promotion?!!!

btw, 本公司的升职对perm有好处吗?换句话说,本单位的工作经验到底算不算?
after promotion, if what you do now is >50% different than before, then the experience in your current company counts. This is tricky, since it's hard to prove you current task/responsibility is not substantially comparable with previous tasks...but if your employer would like to help, nothing is impossible.
One sure thing is, just to add a "Senior" before title won't sound convincing...

the dilemma is: you want to prove its substantially different to justify it as a new position; while at the same time you want to prove your previous position is important for your current skills so that you can use it to satisfy the 'experience' part in your ad.
the harder thing is whether the company (or those people in the company) is willing to go the extra mile.
it's not a dilemma as long as your company supports you on this...will you hire your own attorney, or use the corporate attorney?
the attorney is a long term contract with the company.
company supports LC but very conservative, in other words, reluctant with perm...
公司自诩用的律师是best in town,可现在那几个等绿卡的人把这个律师恨得牙痒痒!不是因为办PERM需要那么多钱,是这个律师贵,而且估价是往高里给俺们说的。

实话说,我很喜欢很喜欢现在的工作,可想想公司明显厚待印度人(相比中国人)我就气不打一处来!公司老板是美国人,公司里中国人也比印度人多,可tmd我们就不如印度人会negotiate和impress others,就...举个例子吧,现在公司一直在给developer招director,面试的尽是些老印(走的那个director也是老印) )
最近我不乐意倒不完全是针对自己的待遇,主要是最近一次老板偶然跟我说什么我猜到的一些不公平我还不能跟那两个中国人说,不然他们一闹情绪老板肯定知道是俺告的秘,nnd,憋死了!拿到绿卡后,工作满一年后马上跳槽!!!(现在PERM可能比以前拿绿卡快了,公司就让我们这几个办PERM得都SIGN了CONTRACT,拿到绿卡后如果一年内跳槽,要把办绿卡的钱返还公司)
只要能拿到绿卡,别的都好说,还钱就还钱,虽然不是小数目,但是比起可能得到的(比如好的待遇或者心情)当然值了。你们这样说明了得还算好,最烦的是不尽心尽力给你办,还拿着跟胡萝卜时不时逗你一下,知道你要身份摆明了得欺负你,his mothers!
