My current company is in the healthcare field.
In the first phone interview, the guy, who became my first boss later on, asked me:
"The job requires watching surgical videos and they are pretty bloody and disgusting, would that be a problem for you?
That's my first phone interview from the industry and I didn't take it seriously at all.
I just joked with him:"
I am from China and we eat "everything" there, so that shouln't be a problem for me."

Now, I do need to watch surgical videos once in a while.
What I do now is just closing my eyes and skipping the bloody shots!

Continue from the story of the phone interview.

A month after the phone interview, the company offered me an onite opportunity.
I talked to two bosses first and none of them asked my any question.
Each of them just introduced the history of the company to me for over an hour
The only one they asked my is about my visa status.

Then, they said there was one person in company who was in the same position I applied for at that time.
So they sent her in and I just realized she was a chinese.
She was well prepared and started to ask the questions in our professions in English.
After a few minutes, she asked me:" How about we speak in Chinese? Anyway, nobody in the room."
So we had another talk, more like a discussion, for an hour in Chinese!
After I joined the company, we still speak Chinese to each other at work, no matter talking about work or other stuff.

Do you guys speak Chinese to each other at work?

only one time, I was sent to a Chinese client, my manager encouged me to speak Chinese to the client to get a good relationship....
There is no other people who can speak Chinese in my firm...also, I think it's better to speak English if there are other people in the room, they will feel being left behind...

That's true. I also think it's professional to speak English to each other at work.
My company is very small and people here are very flexible, so in this environment, speaking chinese is excused.
Indeed, several guys started learning Chinese after we started the chinese conversatin at work.
Maybe they want to know whether we were gossiping them! HAHAHAHA

I guess speaking in chinese is very inappropriate for people who work for big companies.
I just take this as a benefit for working for a small company.
