这是换好以后的。这种红色条纹花补是在 JoAnn 打半折时买的，平均每把椅子用料不超过30刀。

这是正面儿

打算配的桌子是这个。。。是SPIEGLES的，卖399刀。可惜只能在网上订，没办法先看到实物再订货。。。
主要是觉得这个桌子和这几把椅子的腿部造型都是法式 FLUTE LEG 的，而且颜色也差不多，所以可能比较相配。大家觉得怎么样呢？

说实话给椅子换衣衫比做PILLOW要麻烦，主要因为这是个力气活，光拔钉子偶就干不了，很费力的。偶那位也要花2－3小时才能拔完一把椅子上的400个钉子。然后要买专门做REUPHOLSTRY的STAPLER（LOWES有卖的），还要花3个小时才能钉好。偶帮不上太多忙，只能给拽着点布料
再来一张背面儿的。。。

这把椅子其实还没完工，布料是都钉好了，但布料与木头交接处应该帖装饰带，偶还没有帖完，所以如果注意看一下那个正面的图，就会发现靠背上有一圈钉子，呵呵

呵呵，谢谢各位MM。手艺其实没什么好崇拜的，倒是偶滴胆量MM们可以稍微崇拜一下下（脸红中。。。）

谢谢各位的称赞。其实我们会弄的，大家也一定都会弄。偶的确看了看JOANN教RE－UPHOLSTRY的书，不过其实没什么用的。偶那位一眼没看，直接下手，就成了。不过许多地方要事先考虑清楚，比如花色上下排列不要搞错，四个边要留多大富余，还有就是剪裁时如何排版才能省布，也需要仔细设计。特别重要的是坐PP的地方如何绷紧，等等。还有就是用钉枪的经验，这个没法介绍经验，全凭手感。他打了几百个钉子后，可以单手打出漂亮的活，而我现在双手还打不好。。。
嗯，需要把旧布都拆掉。不仅是旧布，所有的旧钉子也要一个一个拔掉。。。

其实偶们就是胆子大，然后运气好，就弄成了。说实话，弄第一把椅子的时候，感觉最难，不过因为布料都买了也裁了，椅子也拆了，都不能再退啦，没有退路啦，就只好硬着头皮干下去。运气不错，就成啦 *_~

我开始没觉得怎么，现在也是越看越喜欢。这个花色，条纹表现出古典和优雅，浅黄和桃红色表现出悦目的温馨和舒适，而且整体色调又显得比较年轻和有生气，是没有明显缺陷的一种花色。MM们如果喜欢，可以去JOANN店里去找找，价格也不是太贵，打折后大约17刀一码，因为是订货，所以要加DELIVERY FEE，好象是5刀，无论1码还是10码，都是5刀。(一码可以做4个PILLOWS)

1 we bought a stuff called scortch-gard from wal-mart for some 5 bucks. we sprayed the stuff onto the fabrics twice, with 6-10 hours interval in between the two aprayers.
with this stuff on the surface of the fabric, most new stains can be easily gotten rid of provided that they are really new --- you can't expect you could wipe off stains if they're already there 24 hours ago :-)

2 with the scortch-gard thing, you can use a clean and wet cloth to wipe out dirts after, say, 3-4 months.

3 we find that the two armset areas get dirty faster than other areas. frequent cleaning and robbing can accelerate the wear-and-tear in this area. so probably we'll have to change them after 3-4 years. since this part does not demand a whole lot of un-stapling and stapling work, so it's quite manageable

the reason why we did the re-uphosltry is simply because we only have the money to buy something that is under-priced due to undesirable upholstered fabrics.
those chairs with desirable and attractive fabrics are priced very high, and we simply cannot afford them --- if you ever check the price for this kind of chair at Ethan Allen, you would know that they are priced at some 700 bucks
Yet our four chairs only cost us some 330 bucks each, a fraction of EA's price.

the other important reason is that, if you buy fabrics on your own and do the re-upholstry, it is much easier for you to control and manage the overall color theme of the house and to avoid getting too messy and distracted due to too many colors and patterns. say, for example, i can use this red-stripe fabric to make some pillows for the sofa and settee, so the sofa area can 'talk' with the dinning area (the chairs would be used as dinning chairs).
