Josie Maran Biography:

A mix of Dutch, French, German, Polish, and Russian roots, Josie Maran was born in 1978 outside San Francisco in Menlo Park. The chestnut-haired beauty got her start in modeling after a woman noticed the then 12-year-old at a hometown BBQ and asked her to be in a fashion show. But Maran's career didn't really take off until she finished high school.

Considered too short for runway work, the 5'7" model's resume consists mostly of print advertising campaigns. She has graced the covers of Fitness, Glamour, Teen, Shape, Seventeen, and Stuff magazines. She also appeared in several Sport Illustrated Swimsuit editions. In 1998 Maran became a Guess? jeans model and later landed a multiyear deal with Maybelline. She was even featured in the Backstreet Boys video "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)."

Eager to try new things, Maran has recently focused her attention on the big screen. In 2004 alone she played small roles in Van Helsing, Little Black Book, and The Aviator. She also has other films in the works.

While diligently working on her career, Maran also has time to have fun. On the Howard Stern Show she revealed she was bisexual and enjoys the company of both men and women, including adult movie actress Jenna Jameson. But she also likes reading, running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
