That's not correct. No matter whether you have an existing account, you can always get the 4.1% rate if you open CD online. I have a couple of other account (checking, saving) with BOA, and still got the rate. And it is so much easier to fund CD because I simply transfered the money from my BOA checking account and it takes seconds to have it done.
