I have some friends at work, not only American, some other races too. We go lunch once a while, chat about music, movies, travel, family, etc, only during work days though. Those I hang out with after work are mostly Chinese, some from mainland, some from Taiwan, HongKong and Canada as well.

I don't expect to have friends as close as 'soul mate', as long as people can enjoy the time together, enrich the life, that's more than enough.
