Your husband is not ready being a father. I am sorry to say that, but I don't know any Dad who cannot take care of a baby for more than 30 minutes. "Busy at work" is not a good excuse. I know many men who travel all the time or work late every night, but they take every chance they can to spend time with their baby.

I don't think there is a genetic link about being lazy. Your father-in-law is spoiled by your mother-in-law and your husband is spoiled by you. If you keep doing it, you will suffer a lot in your marriage in the future, even if you only have one child.

You already made your decision. I respect it.
