after writing the report, 我一般还会给自己asign homework. normally involve some reading. sometimes it is just general investment books, sometimes it is some 传奇人物的传记， 好象 jesse livermore, 我觉得特别enlighting sometimes..

if you find yourself in a position of having no savings, then you should start to track where and how you spend your money. "automatic millionair " is a good book for you. If you are too busy to read book, get the audio CD version, listen to it when u drive. it is not magic, but it does tell you how your little habits can cost you in the long run.

I personally do not think you have to sacrifice your life style to save money. I bring my lunch to work and i like cooking, this saves me a few hundreds a months. and those money goes to my rainy money pile, so i feel less worried about what if I lose my job etc. it improves my life style, give me less stress.

however, if you do not save money, your life style will suffer dramatically later on in your life.

What I mean here your personal financial report is to track your investment, your assets, your liabilities, your cash flow etc. make sure your money grows, it takes a lot of work. but you do not take care of your money, your money will not take care of you.

when you have a family, it is also your responsibilites to make sure if ever anything happens, your loved ones can move on with their life without too much financial difficulties. make sure there is enough insurance policies.
