Some of my friends have rich family and they almost never mail money back. Some parents mail money to their kids here to help them buy new car or new house.

I and my gg are not so lucky. Both of our family need support. We mail money to his brother for his wedding and new house payment. I also support my sister for her college education. We were students back then and mail 5000 dollars back every year.

Both of us are working now and we still mail money back. But our siblings don't need much now. We just want our parents to live a good life without worrying about money. So they can travel and buy stuff they want.
