i think it depends on your company's matching pattern. some company matches dollar to dollar, some matches 50c to a dollar. you will need to find out how your company does it. if they matches dollar to dollar, you can invest however you want.
you need to check with your benefit / HR. our company will only contribute the entire match amount at the end of June, whereas my LD's company put 50% of his contribution per paycheck. It really matters how your company does it.
