我住的这个州 groceries 和 medicine 都没有 sales tax 的。可惜最近长了1%的 food and beverage tax to raise money for the new football stadium.

same situation here.  i am not sure whether they are still debating or have passed it.  the extra tax money will go support the new stadium as well.

Must be! The State is also going to rasie 1-3% tax in sporting event ticket sales - not my problem, really! I don't go to these events until I get free tickets.
