Retail structured notes 也许适合你的要求。这种NOTE一般保证不亏,而且还可以参与STOCK MARKET的UPSIDE。
例:a 2-year principal protection note linked to S&P 500 Index return, paying 3% interest.
If the S&P 500 Index goes down, you still get (principal + 3% interest)
If the S&P 500 Index goes up, you get principal + a return based on S&P 500 performance
The catch: 因为你得到了DOWNSIDE PROTECTION,所以一般UPSIDE GAIN会比直接投资低(通常参照发行方设定的公式)。It works like (zero-coupon notes + call option),发行方赚中间的一点差价。
Minimum investment from $1,000 to $10,000. Be careful of all the fees or commission that could come with it.
It doesn't suit adventurous investors, but could be good for risk-averse ones.

Forgot to point out the obvious, the retail structured notes won't guarantee 10% return.
Here are some examples

U.S. seems to be a little behind. I first heard about it from some offerings in Canada.
These notes may also lack a secondary market. So if you want to cash out before the note matures, you may have to take a hit. (kind of like CDs).
I guess the bottom line: there's always the catch.
