I am thinking bonds and cash are not necessary for most Chinese people. Many US guys spend all the take home money, so they need to put some cash or bonds for retire (a report I read, says US people only save 3% of the take home money). While for most Chinese, I am pretty sure you can save much more than that by yourself (unless you want to use it for some tax benefit).
