the cashback listed in this link is similar to those from ebates or fatwallet.  you need to connect through discover website and shop online to get the cashback.  I think these are long term available.

On the other hand, discover has 5% cash back on specific categories each quarter.  for instance, you get 5% when you shop in store using discovercard at jcpenny, barnes&noble, etc..for Apr May June, and some other stores for the next quarter.
