If you guys aren't ready for the 2nd child, why can't you be more careful?  Your 1st child is only 1 year old.  Every mom who has a one year old knows all the hard work.  I can totally understand your husband.  If I become pregnant accidentally when my first child is only one year old, I wouldn't be happy either.  If your first child is already 2 or 3, you would have a different thought.
