1. To rule out differential diagnosis, when was the age onset of the symptoms? Are the symptoms intermittent, transient, or long-lasting? Are both motor tic and vocal tic present?
2. Once a diagnosis has been confirmed by a neurologist or a psychiatrist (yes, tic spectrum syndroms are psychiatric disorders), special education referral can be in place.
3. Stressful situation may exacerbate the severeity and frequency of tics, so extradinary care and patience are needed from his caregiver.
4. Pharmacological interventions may be called for too. Discuss it with your medical provider. Haldol or Clonidine may be helpful in symptom reduction, but there might be associated side effects too.

I don't have personal experiences related to it, but I've seen many kids with Tourette's.
I suppose your child's clinical symptoms have lasted for quite a while in order to be formally diagnosed. How did you deal with them before? How do you feel after the diagnose has been made? If there's significant change in your mood and emotion, then I'll have to say it's not his symptoms made you stressed out, it's the "label" of his condition.
Apart from all the help he's going to need, I feel you could benefit from some counseling and therapy too. It's not uncommon at all for family members to get help from counseling, especially for some dibilitating medical/psychiatric disorders.
Knowing that a large number of kids with Tourette's Syndroms may eventually outgrow it at adolescence age may help you feel a little better, I hope.
