I don't think there is much you can do after the embolism is formed in the brain. Only the doctors can help. It seems your dad might have a stroke. Early intervention after the stroke to rehabilitate is very crucial in regaining and retaining what your dad used to be able to do before the stroke. If your dad is overweight, have high blood pressure or is diabetic, he needs to watch his diet and life style and maybe with the help of meds he can prevent another episode of stroke.
